The Bridal Hairstyle Timeline

You've probably thought about your wedding a few times before, but now it's actually happening and it's time to start planning. Since your wedding is supposed to be one of the most memorable days in your life, it's only natural that you want to look your best. To get perfect wedding hair, there are a few things you'll have to do in advance. Here's a quick bridal hairstyle timeline for you to follow to ensure that you get the wedding hairstyle of your dreams.
8 months before the wedding:
  • Begin to think about what type of wedding hairstyle you want.
  • Look through bridal hairstyle magazine and browse the Internet to get some ideas for your wedding hairstyle.
    • Save pictures of your favorites.
6 months before the wedding:
  • Take care of your hair. Come see us to set up a personalized hair care regimen, so your hair can look and feel its best on your big day.
3 months before the wedding:
  • Reserve your hairstylist for your wedding day.
  • Schedule a wedding hairstyle consultation with your stylist to discuss your wedding hairstyle.
    • Bring a picture of your wedding dress and any pictures of wedding hairstyles you like.
  • At the end of your consultation, reserve a trial appointment for your wedding hairstyle one month before the big day.
1 month before the wedding:
  • Have your trial appointment for your wedding hairstyle.
    • Bring with you your veil or any hair accessories you intend to wear, so you can have a better idea of how everything will look together.
    • If you don't like something about your hairstyle, this trial appointment is the time to speak up about it and schedule a second trial appointment.
    • If you like the way your trial turned out, take pictures of it from every angle to make sure both you and your stylist remember and can reference it on the big day.
    • The time it takes for your stylist to complete the trial hairstyle will be similar to the amount of time she will take on the day of your wedding, so take note and plan accordingly.
  • At the end of your trial appointment, schedule a last-minute hair sprucing two weeks before the wedding.
2 weeks before the wedding:
  • Have your last-minute hair sprucing appointment.
    • Whether you need to touch-up your roots or get a trim, now's the time to do it. Freshly cut hair doesn't always lie just right, so getting your hair trimmed two week prior to the big day will give your locks a chance to settle into its new cut.
    • Now is the time to talk to your stylist about how you can prep your locks for styling on the big day. Many bridal hairstyles work best with day-old hair, but if you have extremely oily hair, your stylist may advise you to shampoo your locks the day of your wedding.
Day of the wedding:
  • Attend your wedding hairstyle appointment.
    • Bring all of your hair accessories you've planned to use.
    • Wear a button shirt, so you can change into your dress without wrecking your do.
    • Relax and enjoy your special day.
Wedding planning can be overwhelming, especially when you're not sure where to start or what to do next. Hopefully, this bridal hairstyle timeline will help take some of that pressure off, while giving you a better sense of direction as you prep yourself for the big day.
